Do you want to bring your family members to Canada? To help them join you, the Canadian government authorizes citizens who are over 18 years of age to sponsor their family members, which include spouse/partner, dependent children, dependent parents and grandparents.

More about Canadian Family Visa

The family visa lets you bring your dependent children, parents, spouses, and grandparents to Canada and lets them study or work after they have got the valid permits. As per the visa policy, you are authorized to sponsor these family members for a Canada visa from Saudi Arabia:
  1. Adopted children living outside Canada.
  2. Dependent children who are below 21 years of age.
  3. Spouse or legal partner
  4. Siblings
  5. Dependent parents/grandparents

Requirements for Sponsoring Children

As per the guidelines, only those children who are below 19 years of age can be incorporated into your application. There are an exemption for physically or mentally challenged children. Also, there is no age restriction for these children.

According to the state, a dependent child is a child who is not above 19 years of age and any child who does not have any financial source of survival.

Requirements for Sponsoring Parents and Grandparents

In many instances, parents are not permitted to be incorporated in the initial visa application. They should rather be sponsored by a permanent resident, excluding exceptional cases in which parents or grandparents are undergoing some adversity. There are convincing humanitarian reasons to let them be incorporated in the initial visa application.

Requirements for Spouses

If you have a spouse or a legal partner, you can include them normally within your visa application. A legal partner is a person of any gender, counting same-sex partners, too, who has been residing with you for 1 year as a partner. The same info has to be submitted for your legal partner/spouse from you on the application form. The dependent children of your partner can also be incorporated into your application.

Documents Required for a Family Sponsorship Visa

  1. A valid passport
  2. A duly filled application form
  3. Evidence of paid application fee
  4. Evidence of sufficient funds
  5. A police clearance certificate
  6. Bank account statements

How Much is the Canada Family Visa Fee?

The Canada family sponsorship visa process fees must be included alongside your application form. The visa process fee is only 75 Dollars (per person to sponsor) and 475 Dollars (for the principal applicant).

In case the primary applicant is under 22 years of age and is dependent on the sponsor or a child to be adopted, then they’ll need to pay 75 Dollars for the application form.
In case the age of the applicant is over 22 years, and they don’t have a legal partner or spouse, then they’ll have to pay 550 Dollars as a processing fee.

Any family member who is under 22 years of age or unmarried that you want to sponsor will have to pay a visa processing fee of 150 dollars.
