Suppose you and your family are looking for a place to settle abroad and skimmed through various options like Canada, Australia, or The United States of America. In that case, the chances are that you’ve missed out on the beautiful country of Germany. Germany is one of the most beautiful European countries with a high standard of living and one of the lowest unemployment rates in the world. It also provides free education and healthcare to you and your family. It also offers a high salary and looks for highly qualified employees, so Germany is the perfect place to migrate. Germany offers several Visas to those looking to relocate to the country, but the easiest way of immigration is through the Germany Jobseeker Visa.

What is a Jobseeker Visa?

A German job seeker visa is a long-term residence permit that allows you to stay in Germany for 6 months and then look for a job after receiving it. This is an important thing to consider; you will not be given a jobseeker visa if you immigrate to Germany and start work immediately, you can only be eligible for a jobseeker visa if you go to Germany and look for jobs there within 6 months.

After 6 months, if you find employment, you will be issued a German Work Visa, after which you will be allowed to live and work in Germany.

There are Certain Eligibility Criteria a Person needs to meet to obtain a Jobseeker Visa:

  • You should hold a bachelor/Masters degree from a German university, or it should be an equivalent foreign degree
  • You should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in your field of study
  • You should have proof that your funds are sufficient to cover the entirety of your stay in Germany (6 months)
  • You should have travel or medical insurance for the duration of your stay in Germany or until you get a work visa

If you are immigrating from the EU, EEA or Switzerland, you don't need a job seeker visa to look for employment in Germany; however, if you are from Japan, Canada, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Israel and South Korea, you need a job seeker visa to enter the country.

This Jobseeker Visa is only beneficial for you if you are determined to find a job in Germany; once you acquire this visa, you can be on your way and contact and network with all the employers in japan. You cannot work in Germany with a Jobseeker Visa; for that, you will have to apply for a work visa or a work permit as soon as you are employed.

In conclusion, a jobseeker visa is the easiest, cheapest and quickest way to immigrate to Germany if you meet all the eligibility criteria that are mentioned above.
